What is a Blog Hog? Well if you are a blogger on a social network that puts up each of the posts as they occur on a main page of the social network or dashboard, and if you post too often, then your posts and perhaps your picture shows up too much. In this case, folks who cannot keep up with that level of activity or prolific writing will consider you a Blog Hog, well that's the polite term.
You might also be called a serial blogger or some four letter words attached to the words; Blog, Blogger, Blogging, Blogs. And well let's just leave it at that. Why is this even an issue in the first place? Well it appears that many people are so desperate to have their voices heard that they just hate it when someone else steals their thunder. I know this sounds really petty, but blog social networks can definitely bring out the worst of human behavior.
If you doubt this, then you have not been around blogging very long. Have I personally been condemned for being a blog hog, serial blogger or worse? Of course, as I write some 2500 to 18,500 words a day. Today, I am approaching that higher end figure. Now then if the average post were let's say 250 words, well that would be 74 blog posts. Obviously, that would really offend some people who posted only one or two or maybe even three in a 24-hour period, you see?
Now then, what if I had ten blogs and posted 74 articles or 7.4 per day each? Well, it's still too many folks would be upset even at one-tenth, you understand? Now personally, if I am writing blog posts at a high-rate, I like to think of it as power blogging, of course, there is not a single blog network on the planet that could appreciate that level of productivity. And no one could ever read all the articles I write anyway. So, I guess that makes me and anyone who posts 10% of what I do, a Blog Hog by definition.
