Planning a dream wedding reception is not difficult.

Any bride can do this. You can do this.

All you need to do is follow these simple steps and you will be on your way to creating
a wedding reception that will pop with personality and panache! You are going to engage in some fun brainstorming.

Step 1: Get a nice big doodle notebook. Like the kind artists use. Newsprint paper or fine drawing paper... the choice is yours. There are options to fit any budget.

If your budget is super tight, look around the house for something or pick up a roll or two of newspaper print from your local newspaper. Many newspapers give the end rolls away for free. The amazing thing is there is always plenty of newsprint still on the roll. Who said there is nothing for free in the world today? Newsprint is great to keep on hand for wrapping dishes, crystal, and other breakables too.

Step 2: Get a fun collection of markers or colored pens.

Writing with glitter markers is fun. Glitter just makes everything so special. Since the glitter stays in the ink you won't have to worry about having to clean up a mess afterwards. Now that is a real plus in my book.

Step 3: Prepare a nice beverage, put on a favorite cd, light a candle or some incense and say a prayer.

Set the stage for inspiration. Ambiance and a sense of tranquility will allow your inner authenticity an opportunity to breathe in vibrant ways.

Step 4: On a large sheet of paper list everything that comes to your mind when you think about what you want your reception to be.

This is a no-holds barred activity. Brainstorm away!

Be as outrageous and wild as you want!

The idea is to get a real pulse beat on your passions. At this stage it does not matter how far fetched and unrealistic your desires are. They are your desires and they are truly worthy of being identified and celebrated.

List everything! Put your heart and soul into this activity.

Are we having fun yet?

That is all I want you do at this stage. Just focus on everything you would like your reception to be.

In Part 2 we will look at how to prioritize all the wonderful, beautiful and simply outrageous desires you captured on your page(s).
